Abstract

Establishing the DC distribution system is favorable to accommodate large-scale DC renewable generators and DC power loads. In this paper, the techno-economic performance of the medium-low voltage DC distribution system is evaluated. The technical parts including distribution capacity, power supply ability and operation loss are considered, and the calculation method for the annual costs of the distribution-level and consumer-level is presented. Aiming at the ±10 kV/±375 V DC distribution system, related techno-economic analysis is carried out. Further, an AC distribution system with similar structure is introduced, and a comparison of these two systems' techno-economic performance is done. From the comparison results, it is concluded that the DC distribution system represents better techno-economic performance than the AC distribution system.
