Abstract

1. IntroductionThis study builds on a substantial literature of empirical investigations on the fact that with latest developments in learning technologies, added to the manners information and communication technology are carried out (Ionescu, 2010; 2016a, b, c), numerous stimulating likelihoods have arisen to transubstantiate students' learning conducts and teachers' pedagogical methods, but an alteration is required to essentially reconstruct the present learning settings in the direction of smart learning environments. The latter allow the synthesis of technology and pedagogy to generate an environment that comprises dynamic involvement of stakeholders (Popescu Ljungholm, 2016a, b) in the students' learning mechanism. Smart learning environments involve and put together formal and informal education with the purpose of constituting self-governing flexible learning settings for assisting individual students with actual and harmonious pedagogical experiences in omnipresent environments (Nica, 2016a, b) that frequently employ big data and education analytics techniques to integrate the mixture of actual information and the historical datasets with the aim of determining contextually significant learning patterns. (Kinshuk et al., 2016)2. Literature ReviewA merging of improvements in current sciences furnishes a basis for the setting up and application of smart learning environments. What is expected to make an educational setting successful, well-organized and appealing for a broad diversity of students with various degrees of former knowledge, distinct training, and dissimilar concerns (Lazaroiu, 2015a, b, c; 2016) can adjust to the student and customize education and pedagogical backing (suitable adjustment is an indication of intelligent conduct). An educational setting that backs preparation and groundbreaking options is smart if and when results are required. A smart learning environment may comprise characteristics to further undertaking, usefulness, and performance (Bratu, 2016), e.g. backing for teamwork, struggling students, and incentive. An educational setting that routinely makes pertinent alterations to what a student assimilates, has grasped, and aims to learn subsequently is smart. Current information and communications technologies supply an outstanding difficult task for the configuration, advancement, and organization of educational settings, pedagogical systems and carrying out technologies. A smart educational technology achieves its goal successfully and proficiently and that may entail a groundbreaking utilization of a technology in a pleasing and adjustable way. (Spector, 2014)3. MethodologyFor the investigation of the formulated issues, we develop first-rate recent literature and prove that integrating smart instruction or flexible educational techniques to context-aware pervasive pedagogy is a significant matter of technology-improved learning. Education in a smart learning environment may not indicate that learners have a restricted quantity of breathing spell (no specific learning timetable is employed to substitute their relaxation undertakings). A smart learning environment seeks to assist learners in assimilating knowledge in the meantime (Pera, 2014; 2015a, b), identifying chances to guide students in their daily existence by considering their demands and choices. It is also context-aware, i.e. the student's situation or the circumstances of the concrete setting in which the student is positioned are perceived (Radulescu, 2013), entailing that the system can supply educational backing contingent upon the student's online and concrete status. It can also provide immediate and flexible backing to students by instant investigations of the demands of separate students from distinct views in addition to the online and concrete circumstances in which they are positioned, and may dynamically supply distinct customized backing (Popescu, 2016a, b) to the students, comprising instructional supervision, comments, indications and educational tools, contingent on their demands. …
