Abstract
A series of questions of reservoir sediment deposition have always been a hot issue of common concern. The world has carried out extensive research on it to improve the basin sediment distribution, resource allocation, ecological environment and other issues. The paper summarizes the basic principles of various techniques for reservoir sediment release, and several typical reservoirs at home and abroad have been selected as the case to elaborate that its main measures and effect of the sediment removal. It also makes a comment on the development trend which can be used for the research and practice of the reservoir and lake sedimentation control and restoration.
