Abstract

This paper describes a technique for measuring autokinetic response tendency by increasing background illumination to the cease setting; the point of background illumination at which the perception of movement is destroyed. Data are presented to show that single trials can be used to order Ss in a manner consistent with the use of the mean score from a series of trials. Scores are also shown to remain constant over time.
