Abstract

A technique is discussed for increasing the accuracy, time resolution, and robustness of the linear prediction method in speech analysis. The technique consists of generating statistics on a large number of coefficient estimates using short frame lengths, and then defining the mode of the distribution as the estimate. Examples from synthetic and real speech are given.
