Abstract

SummaryWe report a patient with a peripheral pulmonary ‘tumour’ in the left anterior basal segment who was successfully treated using thoracoscopic techniques. The clinical indication for contemplating use of videothoracoscopic surgery was a negative histopathology in transthoracic needle biopsy. An ENDO-GI A-Stapler was used for transresection and closure of the lung tissue. The post-operative pain and the length of hospital stay were markedly reduced compared to open thoracotomy procedures.
