Abstract

Abstract Reduction of corrosive wear loss of steel halls during wet grinding of Cu-Zn-Fe sulphide ore was achieved hy the use of corrosion inhibitors. A binary component system consisting of sodium chromate and sodium carbonate performed well with a reduction in wear as high as 29% obtained over a 30 min grinding period. Moreover the use of this inhibitor combination in mills produced no adverse effect on grinding rate and ore dressing.
