Abstract

In this paper, we present a particularly efficient implementation of the isotherm migration method for solving melting and freeing problems in which the hopscotch difference scheme is utilized to overcome the usual time-step restriction imposed on explicit-type numerical integrators. The method is illustrated on a simple one-phase problem, and numerical results are presented.
