Abstract

Abstract Bhaskara SAMIR (satellite microwave radiometer) data have been used to create a database along with a cartographic referencing system. Though the data insertion and retrieval systems are specific to Bhaskara microwave data, they can be modified depending upon future requirements. The database system has been widely used for various applications e.g., study of snow, atmospheric effects and detection of ground location uncertainty by comparing the sharp variation of brightness temperatures at land-sea boundaries.
