Abstract
Abstract This note is based on observations and interpretations of aerial photographs. Aerial photocharacters such as tonal differences, texture, shape, size, form, pattern, vegetation and associated features were considered in identifying the geomorphological features: lineaments, terraces, reefs, beaches, beach rock, erosion, turbidity, etc. The island relief is predominantly mountainous with granitic cliffs and rugged peaks. Rocky shores of the island alternate with beach accumulations. Lineaments correspond with the regional trend of the rock exposures. There are three to four levels of terraces, reefs are common along the shores, beaches occur mostly in protected bays and beach rock has been observed at several localities. Based on the disposition of landforms it is surmised that the coastal features are controlled by the regional structures and erosion is more common than the progradation, especially on the west coast.
