Abstract
To evaluate the condition and safety of earth dams a comprehensive analysis of the results of control observations is necessary: an isolated evaluation of individual indices of the operation of the structure can lead to an erroneous conclusion. Only the data of systematic on-site observations performed over a long time (3–5 years and more) can serve as an objective index of the character of change in the condition of the structure.
