Abstract

Tumors in the greater or lesser pelvis with lateral fixation present difficulties in their resection due to inadequate exposure distally. Two illustrative examples of such tumors, of a total of 26 pelvic tumors, suggest that resection of tumors in the pelvis with lateral fixation is facilitated with the use of the abdominoinguinal incision, ligation of one or both internal iliac arteries, and dissection at clean planes away from the tumor surface.
