Abstract

Four kinds of fluid-applied roofing membranes were tested by three different methods for the purpose of evaluating the ability to withstand movements which took place in roof decks. All of them could not withstand the movements from 0 to 1.0 mm; then it is advisable, at the present time, to apply these membranes to the roofs where movements as small as 0.5 mm are expected to take place. The test methods adopted in this paper are only tentative ones. The ability to withstand the movements in the roof deck is so important for the roofing membranes that establishment of standard test methods is an urgent necessity for improvement of roofing membranes.
