Abstract
Teamwork makes the fertility dream work: this presentation will discuss what “teamwork” means in the workplace, and more specifically the fertility nursing team. It will explore why teamwork is important in the fertility nursing team and look at the characteristics of good teamwork, such as communication, mutual respect, collaboration, cooperation and conflict resolution, participation, and supportive and positive attitudes. Furthermore, recognising and setting common goals within a team will also be explored. Fertility specific examples of what successful teamwork looks like will be provided, along with discussion around what happens when the team does not function well. The aim of this presentation will be to focus specifically on the fertility nursing team and recognising the dynamic and crucial role it has in the function of a fertility clinic, but also the fertility journey for the patient.
