Abstract
David Johnson, a senior route check 747 Captain with British Airways, gives a personal account of team resource management. Captain Johnson's involvement with clinical governance began after an article he had written, describing similarities between aviation and medicine particularly in the area of team skills, attracted the attention of Professor Aidan Halligan and the NHS Clinical Governance Support Team. But why clinical governance and what has this to do with diabetes and vascular disease?
