© 2017 by MARHO: The Radical Historians’ Organization, Inc. From approximately April 1970 to March 1974, the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted surveillance on the American radical science activist organization Science for the People (SftP). In this essay, the author reflects on his experiences teaching with documents from the FBI's SftP file. The essay also outlines possibilities for further use of declassified FBI documents on SftP in courses on science activism, 1960s-era social movements, the FBI, policing, and state surveillance.
