Abstract

The purpose of this study is to disclose the leading role of a business game as a form of quasi-professional activity used in foreign language training in order to achieve a sufficient level of air traffic controllers’ communicative competence. The educational value, stages of the conducting business games and an example of the business game are represented. The idea of contextual learning, the content of which is the subject matter of future air traffic controllers’ professional activity, is highlighted in the paper. It goes without saying that an important factor in the effectiveness of the educational process in Aviation English studying is an active involvement of applicants for higher education to quasi-professional activities.
