Abstract
A unit on the teaching of problem-solving skills, part of a chemistry inservice course for 25 experienced secondary school teachers in Singapore, presented two strategies: think-aloud and general problem-solving strategies. The evaluation of the unit was based on teachers' personal evaluations and their answers to a questionnaire which focussed on their responses and attitudes towards the teaching and learning of problem solving while using the two strategies.
