Abstract

The article covers the experience of work of the Russian-Norwegian School in Murmansk, the unique project in this sphere of cooperation of the two countries in Russia. The author considers the goals and the main characteristics of the School; special attention is paid to teaching the humanities — History, Social Sciences, Religion and Ethics. The author shows their place in the curriculum, demands to teaching practice of them, and criteria of evaluation, as well as the forms of organization of the study process and methods of teaching. Both achievements and weak points in the School’s work are analysed. The experience of the Russian-Norwegian school can be used in the domestic education system — in the organization of various programs and educational projects of regional studies, in extracurricular work with schoolchildren and students, in experimental forms and methods of teaching.
