Abstract

The DCTEM soybean and wheat double cropping simulation model was used as an instructional aid for the Agricultural Machinery Management Systems course at The University of Georgia. Students varied the size, type, and quantity of agricultural equipment, operations schedule, and soybean variety to maximize net returns. Use of the simulation model improved test scores, enhanced the teaching of machinery management principles, and provided experience in the operation of a management intensive agricultural enterprise.
