Abstract
The study of inverse ill-posed problems has been a very important factor in the development of applied mathematics, geophysics, technology, medicine and other sciences. However, people need to realize the importance of teaching inverse problems in undergraduate level mathematics, modelling and applied mathematics courses. If students treat all problems as direct problems, they cannot fully understand the problems and therefore cannot solve the problems completely. Using several models from different levels of undergraduate mathematics courses, we demonstrate that the concept of inverse problems could be introduced in mathematics, modelling and applied mathematics courses.
