Abstract

In the “Internet +” era, higher vocational education is also the main force to promote my country's modern development. With the rapid development of my country's tourism industry, the society urgently needs relevant talents who are proficient in English and tourism professional knowledge. In order to meet the needs of social development, higher vocational colleges have taken up this important task and opened a major course in tourism English. English courses are particularly important in the study of tourism majors. Higher vocational colleges should seize this opportunity to strengthen the innovation of tourism professional English courses, and strive to train the society to have certain theories and techniques of tourism majors and have the necessary skills for actual work High-skilled personnel required by society with operational ability and foreign language application ability. The purpose of this article is to study the teaching innovation of the practical courses of tourism English in higher vocational colleges under the background of “Internet +”. This article uses a questionnaire survey to understand and summarize the current situation and existing problems of my country's higher vocational tourism English major curriculum from a practical point of view. On the basis of analyzing the current problems, it discusses the new ideas of constructing my country's higher vocational tourism English professional curriculum system under the background of “Internet +”. Propose an English course structure suitable for the major based on the integration of work and study, including course objectives, content, activities, methods, principles, etc. Trying to analyze and explore the characteristics of the major, cultivate professional talents needed by the society, and construct an English course that combines English and majors that adapt to the characteristics of the major. Compare students' learning effects before and after practice, and understand the impact of curriculum reform and teaching innovation on students' professional abilities. The experimental research results show that the teaching efficiency of practical courses after innovation is higher than that before innovation, which is 20-30% higher. It can be seen that innovation can better help teachers and students in teaching and learning, and innovation in the teaching of this course is imperative.
