Abstract

The article analyses the academic reading skills as the essential pillar in teaching students of electrical engineering specialties academic activities. The importance of such academic reading skills during student's education period concerning international requirements and standards is featured. The importance of academic reading in scientific research is determined. A quantitative study was conducted among students of electrical engineering specialties. The most common mistakes in academic reading are analyzed. Detailed attention is paid to the features of scientific literature studying.
