Abstract

The purpose of study was to explore actual methods to teach creativity in expression-activity. For this, I examined the difficulties experienced of teaching expression-activity and integrated teaching methods. Based qualitative research method, we implemented the study with participants, 4 teachers teaching expression-activity and their 120 students in middle school. For data collection, we conducted in-depth interview, non-participant observation, opened survey, and so on. Based on the Spradley(1980)s method, we analyzed the data. The difficulties in teaching expression- activity are as follows. First, the difficulty in aspect of object is to pursue vaguely creativity characteristics. Second, the difficulty in aspect of content is to deal with limited content. Third, the difficulty in the aspect of method is to utilize the doing. The integrated teaching methods to overcome these difficulties and teach expression activities creatively are as follows. First, in the aspect of object, it is important internalizing importance of creativity education and diversifying factors of creativity. Second, in the aspect of content, it is important diversifying items and phasing the steps. Third, in the aspect of method, it is important suggesting experience activities and leading by example. We suggest theoretical and practical research should be expanded and specific teaching model, teaching manuals should be developed.
