Abstract

The author expresses his views on the state of teaching and learning of archaeology in Australian universities, with particular reference to the Sydney University. He suggests that university lecturers should also be involved in research and bring to it the skills of analyzing and solving problems, which would greatly improve the teaching of archaeology.
