Abstract

Earth Force has made this my best year of teaching ... and it has changed the way I teach, says Leighann Forbes, an eighth grade instructor at Iroquois Junior-Senior School in Erie, Pennsylvania. Many of her colleagues in 59 (mostly middle) schools and community partnership sites at four CAPS (Community Action and Problem Solving) projects in Denver; Concord, Massachusetts; and West Palm Beach would probably identify with that assessment. Listening to Earth Force teachers is like grabbing the business end of an exposed wire; there is plenty of voltage to keep the conversational needle pegged on High Enthusiasm.
