Abstract
Argumentation happens because public life is a struggle over meanings, actions, attitudes, and resources. By studying legal and business discourses from this perspective, the authors argue, the advanced undergraduate seminar in argumentation can empower preprofessional students to expand the range of cultural issues that they engage both in college and in their professional trainings.
