Abstract

The fact that every individual have their personality is a truism. It means that every one of us has an own manner of being and of manifesting in the relationships with others, by reference to ourselves, by reference to society. We use to say that each person has their style. In daily language, the personal style problem is too much associated only to the clothing style. In education, the personal style and educational style problem has an increased significance which is worth being to the attention of both theoreticians and practitioners. Starting from these coordinates, the study aims at differentiating certain variants of the educator's style having not only personal relevance but — especially! — a certain professional relevance. Certain significant differences are also established between the educator's aware personal style version and the educator's hidden personal style version. Certain correlations are made between the teacher's personal style and the teacher's professional style with the aware professional style and hidden professional style versions. For practical reasons, behavioral descriptors are identified enabling the identification/recognition of the teacher's personal style and professional style. Through such an endeavor, practitioners receive an instrument which can help them in the process of a better awareness of their own behavior and of the effects they cause on the educables. The quality of education is put in a direct relationship with the quality of interpersonal relationships.
