Abstract

Abstract This paper reports responses by one hundred teachers to a questionnaire designed to find out what behaviour and management problems are experienced by primary and secondary teachers of bright pupils. Carried out by the Teacher Education Project at Nottingham University, England, the study suggests that while bright pupils are generally well behaved, those problems which do arise are often related to insufficient stimulation by classroom tasks. Suggestions by repondents concerning how to manage bright pupils more effectively are provided.
