Abstract

The purpose of the chapter is to illustrate the socioecological practices of tea in Turkey as cues for sustainable tea tourism. Such an approach will contribute to the understanding of the structure of tea tourism and its sustainability in a socio-practical context. Findings show to what extent practices in a tea-community culture work as a sustainable basis for tea tourism. Data sources of the research are videos and documents. Based on reflexive thematic analysis, ethnographic and folkloric themes were found to be prominent in the dissemination of tea across the tourism industry. Future researchers can use the socioecological structure of tea as a practice in its cultural setting as a foundation for tourism and other issues like sustainability.
