Abstract
The O(2)× S 1-equivariant degree is applied to study the Hopf bifurcation for the Taylor–Couette problem. Isotypical crossing numbers and equivariant bifurcation invariants are evaluated and are applied to classify the equivariant Hopf bifurcation for the Taylor–Couette flow.
