Abstract

The nomenclatural history of the New Zealand members of the red algal order Gracilariales is summarized, including lectotypification of three species and the provision of a name, Curdiea furcata sp. nov., for an invalidly described species, currently known as Curdiea flabellata V.J. Chapm. This article is a contribution towards clarifying the taxonomic and nomenclatural status of New Zealand plants for the electronic Flora of New Zealand.
