Abstract

AbstractKlasea sanandajensis (Asteraceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from Kurdestan Province, W Iran. It is belonging to Klasea sect. Schumeria, which contains plants have leaves or leaflets usually entire, upper cauline leaves decurrent or amplexicaul, corolla usually yellow, rarely pink, narrow part of corolla tube usually longer than half the total corolla length and apical anther appendages rounded. The new species is closely related to K. calcarea (MOZAFF.) RANJBAR & NEGARESH, but differs from it by its basal leaves (broadly oblanceolate vs. lanceolate‐oblong), phyllaries indumentums (floccose‐tomentose vs. glabrescent) and pappus length (± 13 mm vs. ± 8–9 mm long). Then, Klasea calcarea (MOZAFF.) RANJBAR & NEGARESH is also proposed here. (© 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
