Abstract
AbstractThe type series of Sargus species described from Scandinavia by P. F. Wahlberg and J. W. Zetterstedt have been studied and lectotypes designated. S. rufipes Wahlb. is a species related to S. splendens Meig. but distinctly different. The differences are described and the male genitalia figured. The established synonymy S. nubeculosus Zett.=S. cuprarius L. has been confirmed. S. nigripes Zett. is a synonym of S. splendens Meig. (syn. nov.). S. minimus Zett. has been fixed by lectotype designation as a synonym of S. cuprarius L.
