Abstract

A measurement of the spectral functions of vector current hadronic tau decays with the ALEPH detector is presented. The unfolding procedure and the systematic uncertainties will be described with some detail. Inclusive and exclusive spectral vector functions from tau decays are compared with e + e − data via isospin rotation. The pion form factor is also studied from the two-pion τ decay and e + e − data. Finally, the hadronic contributions to g − 2 and α ( M Z 2 ) are reviewed on light of the new τ data.
