Abstract

PTC taste sensitivity in 165 Rajputs from District Tehri Garhwal in Uttar Pradesh (India) reveals a bimodal distribution of tasters and nontasters; the incidence of tasters being 69%. There is no statistically significant sexual dimorphism in their ability to taste PTC (χ2 = 1.643; d.f. =1; 0.20 > p > 0.1).
