Abstract
Cloud computing environment provides various computing services along with provision of resources in pay per use basis. Task scheduling and resource scheduling in cloud environment mostly take the help of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). In the current computing era, allocation of task to a machine is one of the most important issues. It is a NP–Hard problem. Many task scheduling algorithms are available to resolve such problems in a heterogeneous cloud environment. In this paper various task scheduling methods are compared and described. The performance of the different scheduling techniques are measure with the help of metrics like makespan, cloud utilization, etc.
