Abstract

This paper analyses Justinas Marcinkevičius' works, especially lyrics, from the perspective of a phenomenological concept of literature. The evolution of the poet's works is being analysed accord- ing to the relationship between gram (writing) and program. The priority of agrarian culture, the natural growth of the word and the writing is being accented, and the structural significance of some Christian motifs is being interpreted. The conclusion is that not every poetic program is spontaneous, and it does not always coincide with the script as individual writing. The paper stresses that the recent works of the poet show the inclination to withdraw from preconceived programs and that this has changed the poetic style of the author.
