Abstract

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is an inflammatory and allergic skin disorder often associated with increased susceptibility to disseminated viral skin infections such as eczema herpeticum (ADEH+). Common variation in over 80 genes has been implicated in the risk of developing AD. We hypothesized that rare variants contribute to ADEH+ susceptibility.
