Pumps fitted with electronics allow for considerable reductions in energy consumption of up to 50%. At the same time, the possibilities of remote monitoring and remote control have proved almost inexhaustible. World Pumps talked to Peter Elvekjær, Grundfos vice president, research and technology, who discussed how the company's vision of an ‘intelligent’ circulator pump sparked innovations across a range of areas, with major spin-off effects to other pump types.
