AbstractRetail ‐ General (MIC: 5.2 SIC: 5331 NAIC: 452990)Target operates large‐format general merchandise discount stores in the U.S., which include Target and SuperTarget stores. Co. also maintains REDcard, its credit card operation and operates Target.com, an online business. Target offers an assortment of general merchandise and a more limited assortment of food items in its stores. SuperTarget stores offer a full line of food items along with general merchandise items. As of Feb 3 2007, Co. owned 1,260 stores, leased 71 stores, and operated 154 owned buildings on leased land (combined)stores for a total of 1,488 locations. Co. also owned 25, leased 1 and operated 3 combined distribution centers for a total of 29 locations.
