Abstract

Taraxacum pankhurstianum A.J. Richards & C.C. Ferguson-Smyth (Asteraceae) is described from material grown at the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh from achenes collected on the remote Hebridean island of St Kilda. It is considered to be closely related to T. faeroense (Dahlst.) Dahlst. in section Spectabilia (Dahlst.) Dahlst., and may be recognised by the hairy exterior involucral bracts.
