Abstract
Case 1. A 29-year-old woman who regularly visited a tanning salon had multiple 1 to 2 mm asymptomatic brown annular lesions on her chest and upper extremities for approximately I year. A slight threadlike scale was present at the periphery ofthe lesions. A biopsy specimen revealed a parakeratotic column with an epidermal dell overlying scant focal basal vacuolar changes and numerous heavily pigmented melanophages. Case 2. A 28-year-old woman had an asymptomatic eruption on her forearms, thighs, and abdomen for 3 weeks that began after a prolonged series of tanning bed exposures. Multiple 4 to 6 mm hyperpigmented macules with and without a barely discernable peripheral scale were found. Histopathologic examination showed small foci of parakeratosis overlying focal vacuolar interface change. Occasional melanophages were present in the reticular dermis.
