Abstract
Disinfection and filtration technologies have advanced to the point where drinking water leaving a water treatment plant should always be microbiologically pure. But even high‐quality finished water can be compromised and the water made unsafe if it passes through a distribution system that includes poorly maintained water storage tanks.
