Abstract

Fast electron bremsstrahlung (FEB) emission during lower hybrid current drive experiments on the HT-7 superconducting tokamak has been measured by a recently developed tangential multi-channel FEB diagnostic based on CdTe detectors. There are 14 sight lines to observe the forward parallel emission of fast electrons with spatial resolution of 4 cm and 6 sight lines to observe the backward parallel emission of fast electrons with spatial resolution of 8 cm. The FEB emission in the energy range of 30–400 keV can be measured. In this paper, the tangential FEB diagnostic is described, and the preliminary experimental results of FEB emission measurements are presented.
