Abstract
AbstractA tandem oxidative reaction of pyridinones and 1,3‐diarylpropenes is disclosed. The reaction undergoes oxidative coupling mediated by 2,3‐dichloro‐5,6‐dicyano‐1,4‐benzoquinone (DDQ), and subsequent intramolecular cyclization and dehydro‐aromatization catalyzed by Cu(OTf)2/bis(tert‐butyl)peroxide (DTBP). A series of 1,6‐naphthyridones are obtained in moderate to excellent yields.
