Abstract

The software industry's competitiveness hinges on the prowess of its software technology talents. In light of this, the present study focuses on Luoyang Science and Technology Vocational College, renowned for its provincial brand specialty in software technology. Employing a qualitative research approach, particularly through semi-structured interviews, this research involves graduates from the software technology program and professionals from information technology enterprises both within and outside the province. The findings reveal several critical issues, including a disconnect between the curriculum and industry demands, insufficient emphasis on skill development and practical expertise, and a lack of vocational literacy in software technology education. To address these challenges, the study proposes tailored strategies. These strategies aim to bridge the gap between academic content and industry requirements, enhance the cultivation of practical skills and hands-on experience, and bolster vocational literacy in software technology programs. By implementing these recommendations, Luoyang Science and Technology Vocational College, as well as other institutions, can effectively nurture competent software technology talents, equipping them to thrive in the fiercely competitive software industry.
