Abstract
An interferometer based on the Talbot effect but employing anisotropic gratings is proposed. These gratings are obtained by exposing a Weigert plate with a periodic intensity distribution of polarized light. The phase testing properties of this interferometer are discussed, and some possible extensions are proposed.
