Abstract
The operational experience and recent evaluation data pertaining to the performance of TALAR, a step scanned microwave landing system is reviewed. The data reviewed covers a period of approximately 10 years. The basic functional operation of a step scan system is described, i.e., TALAR. A family of landing systems is then derived via modular interchange with the base line unit. Operational configurations such as short take off and landing, asynchronous split site, multi angle and multi channel are described.
