Abstract
Takayasu's arteritis is a rheumatological disorder causing inflammation of large vessels. It may affect the arteries leading to the cerebral vasculature. Patients may become symptomatic from ischemia or stroke. Treatment consists of antiplatelet agents and immunosuppression. For focal symptomatic lesions, angioplasty and stent placement or bypass may be required.
